Studies have shown that even two weeks of raised cortisol levels (the hormone increased by stress) leaves dendrites (those connections between brain cells) shrivelled up. So if you’re planning to work your ass off you entire life towards making money (which you can’t take with you when your dead anyway), you’ll end up retiring with a shrivelled up brain!
Sacrificing your peace of mind and zen for a life full of stress and disease is not worth it. We all know money won’t buy you happiness, nor can it replace a healthy brain - they can’t transplant those suckers.
Reduce your stress by first being present. Secondly, respect and look after your body. This is achieved by eating mindfully - with the proper education on nutrition - and exercising. (you don’t have to be extreme to be healthy either) Thirdly, surround yourself with people and relationships that help lift you up. And lastly, enjoy yourself -don’t take life so seriously!
